The ABCs of 2008
Posted by | Posted in Personal | Posted on 01 Jan 2009
First of all, a very Blessed New Year to everyone! 2008 just came and went and now we are ushering in the new year.Reflecting back, 2008 had its ups and downs. There were some bad decisions and some which were good, some which I regretted and some which I didn’t. I guess I’ll sum up my year in the following ABCs…
Arrival of Lai Yeen in Singapore since getting married
Both of us were staying at my cousin’s place until we found our own rented apartment
Changed jobs and only to go back to my old company 3 months later
Decided to look around for a church to settle down
Ended up worshipping in a church where we were both least expected to be
Finally got my very own Playstation3! I never owned a console since the Atari days.
Got to know some great friends at the Planetshakers & Tim Hughes Worship Concert
Had the opportunity to work with several great photographers this year, two of which shot my wedding photos
Invested in a whole lot of poisonous gear…
Jesus loves me! It’s not how much we love Him, but how much He loves us! The one truth that set me FREE!
Kept my promise for 3 months that I’ll not buy anything for a year
Learnt Singapore roads using my GPS but I still get lost
Maintained a constant weight through out the year
Never made any goals for 2008. A big mistake.
Opened a very expensive bottle of Chateau Lafite for Chinese New Year
Passed my theory test and got my Singapore driving license
Quickly went over to the Toyota Showroom and bought a new car
Registered 15,000km mileage on my brand new car in less than 6 months
Shopped around Hong Kong with my wife again
Took some hilarious photos at Madame Tussaud’s HK.
Understood my priorities at work, at home and at play… a very hard and painful lesson indeed
Visited Ipoh for 4 times this year, an achievement on its own
Weddings, weddings, weddings! 2008 was filled with them!
X-rayed my chest, did a blood test and finally got my PR status approved!
You came to my new blog! Something that I believe would benefit me very much in the future.
Zzzzz… I obviously can’t find anything that goes with the letter “Z”… haha!
There’s so much that I would love to achieve for 2009 and I am more determined than ever to see myself completing them and striking them out of my to-do list each day. I hope by the same time next year, I would have a new set of ABCs, and most of it would be high points in my life.
Take care and I pray that you will have a wonderful and successful 2009!!

Z is for zeolous in the area of photography. Never saw anyone improve so much over such a short period! Keep up the awesome work dude!
