Pre-Wedding of Jun Kit & Mei Sze in Melbourne Part II (updated)

So, continuation from the day session, we decided to head back to Docklands one last time because the weather was so wonderful that day. Look at the sunset!

***Updated 19 Aug***

I guess it must have been the flu that I have been having the past few days that I’m not really thinking straight. Haven’t been able to pen down what I wanted to say and many things have slipped my mind. I’ve gotta slap myself silly for missing this very important note. I think I’ve mentioned that I love my clients but I failed to mention how sweet they were. You see, we were shooting in this hotel and they gave us a pleasant surprise when they told us that we would be staying there for the night. Oh! What a joy! If you look at the decor, you would know that this place is marvelous! Thanks Jun Kit & Mei Sze, we love the room and we had such a good sleep that night (yeah, after 11 hours of shoot, I think Lai Yeen and I were both knackered).

***Updated****

Next up are some casual shoot that we did the next morning! If I haven’t mentioned it before, I’ll mention it again, I love my clients! They brought me out for some great Fish & Chips that day and we took some really really nice casual shots. Here’s one to wet your appetite.

Till then, enjoy the pics and have a fantabulous week ahead!

Pre-Wedding of Jun Kit & Mei Sze in Melbourne Part I

Posted by | Posted in International, Photography, Portraits, Pre-Weddings, Weddings | Posted on 16-08-2009

What an absolute joy it is to shoot a pre-wedding in Melbourne! The weather was cold and windy but that also means I won’t be sweating like crazy like I normally would in tropical Singapore! The weather was kind to us because it was reported to rain for the most parts of the weekends but when it came to the time of the pre-wedding session, it was bright and sunny with no rain clouds in sight. The heavens were upon us! Jun Kit and I were college mates back in the day but we sort of lost contact. But thanks to the wonders of the Internet, Friendster and Facebook, we managed to keep in contact. This has been months in planning and thanks to my lovely clients, they’ve arranged everything for us from the moment we left Singapore to the time we started shooting. The schedule and venues were all planned, prepared and I didn’t have to worry one bit. Oooh, how I love my clients! So enjoy the photos from the day shots that we took that day, more to come later!

First up, shots taken from the Parliament building. A famous stop for weddings and pre-weddings alike. I think I saw like another 3-4 wedding couples that day. This place is packed with tourist. I’m glad I manage to take a few shots here minus the crowd. ;)

Melbourne City is famous for their tram rides and yellow cab taxis like NY. Just before we left the parliament, I manage to capture both in the same shot. ;)

Mei Sze looking gorgeous walking down the main shopping district area. By the way, she was in the middle of the tram tracks, talk about dangerous!

Melbourne is filled with graffiti walls. What’s a pre-wedding in Melbourne if you don’t pay a visit to these famous locations?

junkit_meisze_prewedding_007.JPG

Melbourne, the garden state. Surely there’s lots and lots and lots of gardens to be found there.

Stopped by at Docklands to shoot a few shots here.

Posted by | Posted in International, Photography, Portraits, Pre-Weddings, Weddings | Posted on 15-08-2009

Hi guys!

I know, I know, it’s been a while! I’ve been away in Melbourne, Australia for a week and sad to say, I haven’t been able to connect to the Internet much. Thus, the slow update. I’ve been busy catching up with much needed sleep, work and editing photos. I promise to have more photos up very soon.

At the meantime, here is one photo that we took in Melbourne during the Pre-Wedding shoot.

I met Jason & Doris at Andy & Kelly’s Wedding. Jason is Andy’s younger brother who was also getting married. It was sweet of Andy and his family to hire me as the wedding photographer to cover Jason & Doris’ Wedding in Malacca as a gift for the both of them.

zero2hero Season 6

Posted by | Posted in Personal, Photography, Portraits | Posted on 21-07-2009

Once again, I have the opportunity to photograph a bunch of talented youths. I’m so excited about this that I can’t help but to finish editing them as soon as I can. My friends from Vertical Care Services (VCS) invited me to help photograph some of the band shots for Zero2Hero Season 6. If you have read my blog entry back in February, I posted some photos from Season 5. This time round, I was in charge of taking some individual shots for each of the band members.

I didn’t know that shooting by the beach can be such hard work. Look at my Crocs slippers! I think I have to get a new pair after this.

Thanks to James and Gerald for inviting me. Here is a photo of James from 14-85. (Sorry Gerald, didn’t get to take a photo of you earlier!)

Thanks to my lovely assistant, Eunice, for helping out. She’s a star and I can’t say enough to thank her for helping me hold the light throughout the shoot. Thanks for enduring my many requests and not complaining a single bit!

Zero to Hero (Z2H) is a community programme by Vertical Care Services (VCS) towards the enrichment of youths in the area of music.

Many youths today have great interest in music, but they may not have the finances or resources to help them grow and discover their talents in this area.  Hence, Z2H, as the name describes, was chosen to transform youths from not knowing much about music, nor being able to play much of a musical instrument, into a youth band performing to their family and friends.

Z2H goes beyond the learning of music to the ability to play as a band.  This requires teamwork, camaraderie, and a whole host of other life skills to be learnt. For more information about Z2H, click here. Already on Facebook.com? Visit the group to check out the latest news, awesome photos and great people!

I’m back to editing more wedding photos. Hope to share them with you soon!

Wedding of Ban Yew & Esther Part II

Posted by | Posted in Photography, Portraits, Weddings | Posted on 20-07-2009

Here are more pictures from Ban Yew and ESther’s Wedding! It’s almost 2AM and I’m too tired to think of words, so I’ll let the photos do the talking. Enjoy!

This is a pretty funny photo that is worth a mention. Ban Yew popped the champagne and the cork didn’t get very far. It hit the stage ceiling and fell back to the ground. Thus the reaction of the next photo.

Wedding of Ban Yew & Esther Part I

Posted by | Posted in Photography, Portraits, Weddings | Posted on 17-07-2009

If you have seen our “Our Recent Trip to Ipoh” video, you would know that we were there to shoot a wedding. The couple, Ban Yew & Esther also did a pre-wedding with us back in March. You can read all about the fun we had shooting the pre-wedding in Singapore, here and here. Ban Yew and I attend the same school back in Ipoh. Although we were from different streams, we still kept in contact. It’s also great to see so many of my schoolmates present during the wedding. Seeing that everyone is all grown up, have a successful career and getting married and all, it really filled my heart with joy, partly because it’s a friend’s wedding and partly because there’s a certain something about the atmosphere during a wedding. Everybody is happy and everybody is feeling the love in the air. Ah, absolute bliss.

As promised, here is the first installment of Ban Yew and Esther’s wedding photos from the morning session. And if you haven’t noticed, Esther is quite a looker and I guess I’ll start with a few of my favourite photos of her from the morning session.

Esther getting ready in the morning. Tried a high key shot of her getting ready.

Chen Lei took this shot and I absolutely love it.

Four Weddings and a….

Posted by | Posted in International, Photography, Portraits, Weddings | Posted on 10-07-2009

No, its not four weddings and a funeral! Although, the world has been saddened by the passing of MJ. May you rest in peace. I’ve decided to title my post as “Four Weddings and a…..Bali Trip”. That’s the amount of posts that I have yet to blog about. I’ve been under the weather for almost a week now. Cough, flu, diarrhoea and the whole she-bang. No, it’s not H1N1 and thank God that I’m recovering…slowly. My bed has been my best friend for the whole week. All thanks to my flu meds. I’m usually an early riser, so staying in bed is a welcomed surprise.

Here is a sneak peek at what’s coming from the Four Weddings and the Bali Trip.
